Whenever I pick J Cole over Kendrick Lamar people wonder why.

It's very easy, while Kendrick Lamar is the most talented rapper of all time, he still misses the GOAT debate by a mile because there are metrics to measure these things, and he doesn't measure up in all parameters.

I will explain calm down KDot fanboys.

1. It's no longer a rumour that KDot is a Grammy child and is always favoured by the award, so the awards are out of the picture. 

No matter what any rapper does, once Kendrick drops a song, he's winning a Grammy, that's pretty obvious and ridiculous. 

2. Great Rapper bar for bar average storyteller. 

In fact, storytelling in RAP music is much more important than punchlines. It's what sets rappers like 2Pac, BIG, Immortal Technique, and J. Cole apart.

After all the play with words and grammar, what are you saying? How touching and captivating is the story? How relatable is it? 

That's where songs like Stan by Eminem, Lost Ones by J Cole, A Dance with the Devil by Immortal Technique, Wet Dream by J Cole, and You Never Know by Immortal Technique stand out.

KDot is a great rapper, very skilful, but unable to balance storytelling with great lyricism like 2Pac, BIG, Eminem Immortal Technique, and J Cole.

Those 5 are the most complete rappers of all time and will always captivate the street with emotional storylines.
